BML data- This collection includes netCDF format data collected by Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary (CBNMS), Farallones National Marine Sanctuary (GFNMS), and Bodega Marine Laboratory (BML) to understand the physical processes at Cordell Bank (CBNMS), Bodega Head (GFNMS), Southeast Farallon Island (GFNMS), and Double Point (GFNMS), and their potential effects on marine ecology.

WCOSS data- This data set includes temperature and current data from moorings deployed under the NOAA National Marine Sanctuary Program's West Coast Observation System (WCOS). All moorings are in relatively shallow water (100 m or less, with most in approximately 20 or 15 m). All are equipped with a vertical array of thermistors. Channel Island NMS moorings are additionally equipped with bottom-mounted ADCPs. The thermistors are programmed with a two-minute sampling interval (no internal averaging); ADCPs are programmed with continuous two-minute ensembles (45 pings per ensemble) and a vertical resolution of one meter. The data were collected at 37 stations within the boundaries of four National Marine Sanctuaries on the West Coast of the United States, between 2004 and 2011.

The data are represented in a COARDS profile netCDF format (IOOS standard format), and are accompanied by metadata in FGDC standard format, otherwise known as the Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM).
